Living with music in the heart
Biography
Anton Fedorov – music producer and mix engineer based in Ukraine.
The first acquaintance with music happened in early childhood when his grandfather who played the piano began to sit his grandson on his knees and play his favorite music to him.
Since then, interest in music has manifested itself in a wide variety of forms and by the age of 12 when it turned to passion Anton began his guitar studies at one of the local music schools. But his interest was very much attracted by popular music and film scoring (but he didn’t even know how it was called in those days) so from the first days of music school, he wanted to learn not only to play but to compose music.
The desire to write music was so strong that even with elementary music education Anton tried to compose his own music. He constantly asked questions to teachers about how to learn to compose music, but quickly realized that people who possess theoretical knowledge and know-how to play musical instruments, cannot always know how to apply this knowledge in practice to compose music.
In 2002, after three years of studying the elementary theory of music, Anthony experienced some disappointment that basic education was not able to answer his main question about how to create his own and decided that the real practice for him is not only playing musical instruments but composing his own music, so he decided not to rely on teachers and start his own way – to write music himself.
In the same year, the first acquaintance with computer programs Cubase SX & Propellerhead Reason. This has opened up a new incredible world of drum machines, virtual instruments, midi-tracks, and an exciting process of arranging.
The combination of musical theory and the practice of composing music on a computer was exactly what Anton needed and what he unconsciously sought. He began to compose music for himself and his friends as well as began mixing already recorded tracks.
Cooperation with artists of urban and electronic music helped to create a taste that, on the one hand, was melodic due to the great influence of the blues and soul on urban music, and on the other, it was modern and bold because of the influence of top electronic producers of that time. Music production and mixing skills made it possible to become more competent in sound quality and commercial standards of music.
But something was missing and Anton understood what. All this time he was not left with the thought of writing cues for TV projects. There was a desire to move on.
In 2012, Anton began his development on the royalty-free music markets, but he didn’t like the approach of the stock companies to market depreciation, so he continued his search and began his collaboration with a number of production libraries and labels that publish music for TV shows and trailers for movies and computer games.
Over the past few years, Anton managed to publish his music in more than 70 albums of production music and is preparing to release his first album on one of industry-leading labels.
